What is ECO

The name of the organization represents the understanding that we all are citizens of the Earth and share the responsibility as its stewards for the well-being and continuity of the community of life on the planet. Earth Citizen is the shared identity for all people who take this responsibility. ECO is pioneering to organize and lead Earth Citizens’ activities to promote the spirit of Earth Citizenship.

While training its future leaders, the Earth Citizen Movement will keep expanding its outreach to build a network of partners for more extensive collaboration in a variety of international, cross-cultural, and interfaith initiatives and campaigns. The plan for the growth of the movement will also include community services and advisory committees.

What makes ECO different

We all know that we need to change to make our lives on this planet sustainable. However, if we were to attempt to make a large-scale change in a short period of time, the stress and strain of such an effort would probably frustrate the effort itself. To facilitate change, we should learn to think ‘soft.’ Even with people, we can start the change from softer things such as the way we breathe, the way we eat, the way we manage our stress, and the way we feel toward other people and other living beings. These soft parts shape our behaviors and our choices, both on a personal and a global scale. In this respect, they are fundamental, more so than any material change. These elements, together with training and practices for mindfulness and leadership, are the foundation of the training programs at the Earth Citizens School and the ECO regional learning centers.

What Eco offers

ECO’s proposed activities will include providing education and training for leadership development, personal management, and healthier lifestyle and discovering and promoting cultures and practices for balanced and peaceful living throughout the world. To make this training and education available for a larger audience, ECO desires to develop training facilities at multiple locations and online education services. The primary training location will be in Arizona. ECO can expand the locations to other states as the Earth Citizen Activities grow.

Graduates of these training programs will conduct Earth Citizens’ activities locally and globally supported and guided by ECO.

The activities of ECO as a 501(c)(3) organization will be funded by support from the public, individual donors, other organizations, governments, and/or government agencies.
